Back in I was a 19 year old English Literature student with too much time on my hands and a passion for a new-fangled little website called YouTube. I told everyone about the great stuff on it: cats falling out of windows, kids slipping into swimming pools, that kind of stuff. The doctors had met as students whilst studying at Imperial College and quickly forged a friendship, based it seems around c ontempt for rival London medical schools and orthapediac surgeons , and which soon turned into performing parody musical numbers together. The tunes- popular songs, often but not always with a medical twist-were funny, upbeat and invariably absolutely filthy and the two men gained a cult following. A little while after they went viral I saw them perform at a pub in Balham where I laughed so much and got so drunk on cheap and horrible white wine that the next day I had sore ribs and a hangover worthy of medical attention. The friends carried on for some years and eventually swapped the grotty public houses of South-West London for more glamorous venues: I saw them many times but certainly the swankiest occasion was at the IndigO2 on one of the hottest nights of the summer of
